The Morning Newswatch with Dave Vieser & Geoff Dunn
Dave began hosting the WHCU Morning Newswatch alongside Geoff Dunn on May 29, 2006. The show features extensive local news coverage, sports, and weather updates from 5:30 AM until 9AM. Dave also interviews several guests each morning, focusing on local news stories and community events. Along with comprehensive coverage of local issues, we present the Osgood File, the Rush Limbaugh morning update, Dr. Dean Edell's medical minute, and updates from the newsroom of Marketwatch.com Dave has interviewed Hillary Rodham Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Gov. David Paterson, former Gov. Elliot Spitzer, and many others. You can follow Dave on his Facebook page, or Twitter as DaveWHCU. Dave came to WHCU from down the hall at WQNY (Q-Country) where he was the afternoon host of a show called "Driving with Dave". Dave came to Ithaca in 2005 and joined the Cayuga Radio Group after years in television in Syracuse, Charlotte, Atlanta, Reno, and the midwestern Quad Cities. He has won several awards, including a regional Emmy, for his coverage of weather and other disasters. When he is not on the radio, Dave does some private DJ work, drives a cab in Ithaca occasionally on weekends where he gets tips for show topics (and yes, cash tips as well!). He loves golf, bowling, football, and is a life-long Mets and Jets fan; but still also loves all New York team, as well as the Carolina Panthers football team. |
