Town Board Takes Charge Of Dryden Zoning Proposal

Changes to the town of Dryden’s zoning laws were sent to the town board for review by the planning board Thursday night.

The referral of the much-discussed proposal included a recommendation for additional public input, development of a master plan for Varna and the establishment of a town zoning task force comprised of several boards.

Members of the public continued to express concerns about development in Varna and restrictions on property owners.

Town Supervisor Mary Ann Sumner believes many of the concerns are the result of misinformation.

Sumner believes future public forums should be divided into individual topics. She hopes to complete the zoning process by the end of the year.
